The Makita AF506 18G Brad Nailer features air duster. By pushing the push button, air from the compressor can be bypassed into the air duster nozzle to produce a powerful air blast, useful for clearing up the job site floor or the work piece.
The AF506 features a slim nose tip to allow for increased visibility and easy access to the fastening point and this slim nose enables the user to shoot nails into confined spaces. The nose adapter prevents the surface of the work piece from being scratched or damaged.
The Makita AF506 18G Brad Nailer is an 18 Gauge Pneumatic Brad Nailer with a straight magazine angle that operates at 70 to 120 psi / 4.9 to 8.2 bar, driving a range of 18 Gauge brad nails from 15mm up to 50mm into hard or soft wood applications.
The Makita AF506 18G Brad Nailer is equipped with an easy to use tool-less depth adjustment dial for a wide variety of applications, quick release cam lock to open the nail guide assembly for easily clearing jammed nails, slim soft grip for comfort in use and a viewing window to check the quantity of remaining nails.

Highly recommended. Easy to use straight from the carry case. Strong and a good weight. Feels well made and totally reliable. In the first 8 hours of use we didn’t experience any jamming at all which is rare for these type of guns. Not the cheapest but you get what you pay for.

I have used a few nailer/staplers over the years and almost from just a few days old they either broke or had problems with jamming on a regular basis with either the brad nails, staples or both. This time, as I use mainly nails I chose just a nailer version. At 2 to 3 times the price of many nailers it’s not cheap at approx £95 but the difference in handling and quality of build is chalk and cheese. Performance is excellent too and punches 15 to 50mm brads in with equal aplomb. A simple click release clip enables cleaning or clearing the firing nose but at the moment I have not had a single jam. The nose also has a rubber protection cover to protect the work piece and also a spare is fitted beneath the gun.Easy to adjust depth at either gun and/or compressor as this is compressed air tool not electric so that is an additional cost if you are starting from scratch. Mine was from SGS, 50 litre, 9.6 BAR and works at 120 PSI and cost £119. The Makita will work all day with that spec and is used at only fraction of that available. From birdboxes to sheds this is the tool to use and the same model stapler is on my wish list now.

Great product easy to use, but remember you need to buy the Makita compressor £159 to operate it.Had one for many years and had to replace the compressor because the pressure failed, otherwise a very useful tool.

My previous nailer did not work well. Electric triggers did not really work. With a decent compressor (usable for other tools + machinery), this nail gun works brilliantly.Yes, it is slightly less convenient – but there is nothing worse than a partly buried brad nail. This gun does not do that. Excellent.

Birthday present. Hubby loves it.it made an awkward job quick and easy. He was lining our shed with marine ply not enough room for 2 people .he could position the sheet and nail it by himself. Very happy.

Great product. I bought a electric Tacwise which only lasted 2 days and not up to the job. This is the right tool, great quality and easy to use

Outstanding!
Makita 5/8” – 2″ 18 Gauge Brad Nailer,. I was going to buy an inexpensive brad nailer from my local Fright hardware store, but I thought that I should buy something that I could pass down to the next generation as my father always did. I purchased this Makita 2” brad nailer as it had ratings of 4.7 out of 3,170 reviews. So, I thought you can’t beat that. My goodness is this one amazing nailer. Rubber grips and even the blue logo on the side is also rubber so if you set it down on something nice or a piece of furniture it won’t scratch it. It fits your hand like a glove and functions so smoothly. I will never regret spending more money just to have something that is so nice to use for what I need, but knowing that it will easily pass on down to probably my grandson makes the extra expense worth every penny. I will never shy away from a tool that I know will be used and appreciated going forward. It is truly a fantastic 18 gauge brad nailer. You won’t ever regret buying this air brad nailer.

Another predictably consistent and reliable Makita product.
Reliable, accurate and easy to load. Easy to eliminate / disable cumbersome safety tip device for smooth competent operation. 40 years a journeyman carpenter and have learned to rely on the entire Makita product line. Price modest so I assess it as deluxe throwaway product that is reliable enough with enough longevity that the product is discarded when it eventually breaks. Other “reputable” small power tool manufacturers have repeatedly disappointed me with one form of trickery or design that results from letting the accountants and marketing people take priority over the engineering team causing premature death of tool.
