I have various toys like that or I had untill my van was broke into and over £3000 pounds worth of equipment was stolen, I left it unattended for 20 min at 1pm in the middle of residential area.Needless to say I had to replace all of them. I bought this plunge saw to replace it’s bigger corded brother and I am very happy with it indeed. You do need 8ah battery to take advantage of it full potential. The blade is thinner than on corded one and I find that it cuts like there is no resistance 30mm red oak for example. It is also worth mentioning that while cutting using Bosch rail as this plunge saw ment to be used I made and error resulting in kickback twice. The saw shut down instantly saving me from injury and saving the rail from damage. As a contrast when few years ago mains power Bosch plunge saw kicked back it damaged the rail badly and scared the hell out of me. It was my error but nevertheless if I make one with this new model the anti kicked back protection (I don’t know if Bosch calls it like that or it’s patterned by other company) is such a good safety future to have.

Tired of signing in, being asked to register with all kind of sites. The tools are heavier, bulkier, missing alot of features implemented by other brands 10 years ago.And where is the professional cordless router that of course is available in DIY 18v all in one battery?

I was pleased to see a cordless plunge track saw from Bosch, as I have already got a substantial number of Bosch accessories and batteries. The finish on cut edges is very good, with little extra finishing required. I have used it on marine plywood, reclaimed mahogany, MDF and softwood studding. The depth stop is quick and easy to use. The bevel is also simple, but you need to ensure you tighten the rear nut first, then without putting any weight on the machine tighten the front nut. This eliminates any warping in the plate, that others have experienced, Bosch have released a video on YouTube to clarify. My only gripe is the dust collection is not as good as I expected, there is about ½” gap between the saw and the material that some dust can escape, it is still much better than my previous saws. I’d like to compare it with the gold standard of festool, but that option was twice the price! Another thing to consider is the saw blades they are 140mm which isn’t a common size at the moment, I’m still hunting for a ripping blade.

Got my yesterday, using it all day today so far very pleased with it. Coming from Dewalt corded model, this is definitely a upgrade when it comes to portability and storage. Super easy adjustments no need for Alankeys to set it on tracks. Setting up depth of cut is on pair with festtool push of a button no stupid knobs. Dust collection is about average but hover take care of it. Big plus it runs on one battery I don’t expect to have have same run time as other cordless saw but there is always another battery waiting on the charger or in the box no. When set to maximum power is on pair with others on eco mode it get the job done just a bit slower. I run it on cheap evolution tracks. Feeding it with dewalt batteries with modified adapter. Great little saw highly recommended.

Brilliant bit of kit just as powerful as my corded bosch plunge saw. The blade is a bit smaller in diameter but will still cut 40mm worktops with easy. it’s hard to get a replacement that not bosch, but overall I’m glad I’ve got it.
