There is a reason why most of the contractors who come to your house use DeWalt. Their equipment is expensive, but the old adage “you get what you pay for” holds true.Initially bought a cheap cordless jigsaw, but almost immediately the footplate bent and after 4 weeks the battery died. Used Amazon’s always excellent returns service to send it back and bought this replacement. 4 times the price but 4 times the quality and performance.Out of the box this feels solid and heavy duty. Everything, from the footplate to the tool free blade holder is chunky and robust. In use the difference was amazing. Using it without the orbital setting it powered through 4×1 easily, and gave an accurate, straight cut. Doing the same with the orbital mode fully engaged powered through the wood like it was not there.I did not read the manual at first, so could not understand why it didn’t generate any sawdust around the blade blocking the markings on the wood. Later I found out about the blower which clears the blade constantly. What a simple but brilliant idea!Final bonus is, by registering the saw online with DeWalt I have a 3 year warranty.Overall, this is a great price of kit.Almost forgot to add, ordered it on the 27th June and had a delivery date of 3rd – 7th July. The saw arrived on the 30th! It’s still in transit according to Amazon tracking.
