Works well, fully adjustable speed control and comes with the dust-bag where others a little cheaper don’t, good price and good deal

Having used a get cheap sanders, I was keen to get a tool that was cable free and could be attached to a vacuum cleaner. This unit is a good quality build and it works much much better than my cheap units. It can remove a large amount of material, but if tou want to do something delicate, like sanding plaster, you can turn down the speed.Attaching a vacuum cleaner is expensive. You don’t get the fitting, but have to buy it separately, either as a single adapter yhat gets attached permanently to the vacuum hose (£18) or a full kit that allows you to just push in a normal vacuum hose (£30).I used this kit on a ceiling, running the sander on slow. No clouds of dust, and the end result was extremely good. Not all dust was captured though. A small sprinkling fell on my shoulder, but this was a very small amountBattery life seemed very good. An hour of sanding used about half a 2ah battery.Overall I think this is the start of a beautiful relationship with this new tool. I have lots of boatwork to do this winter, and being able to work for long periods on batteries is a definitely plus.

Works great, very good value. There are packs of discs on amazon for about 8 quid too. Way cheaper than screwfix and the rest. Doesn’t over heat if used constantly for 12 hours.

As you would expect at this sort of price and from DeWalt this is solidly made and effective. It feels best balanced when fitted with DeWalt’s smaller batteries BUT I get no more than 10 minutes running time from my 1.5Ah batteries. Fortunately I have two and they recharge in around 30 minutes. With my 4Ah battery the run time is much longer but the added weight offset from the body does make it feel a little unbalanced. The supplied dust collector is OK and better than nothing but the accessory to connect to a vacuum cleaner is worthwhile, albeit rather expensive for what it is, as this dramatically reduces the amount of dust in the air. As I already had a couple of cordless tools from DeWalt it seemed sensible to opt for the cordless sander but otherwise, taking into account the cost of a battery (or batteries) and charger I’d have bought a corded sander.

Lovely little sander it’s DEWALT and does what it says on the tin , the sander was a great iridescent and cheapest around . Hubby loves it so that’s a great sign. Nice and nifty and easy to use

This is something I always needed. Battery life is great. Very comfortable to use, light and result will be visible instantly. Durability remains to be seen. Great value for money, particularly if bought with discount. One very useful feature is that you can connect vacuum cleaner using special adaptor and it will be almost dust free job. Great tool!

Great sander, easy to use and not too shaky in the hands so wrist won’t hurt. But it is quite heavy and battery doesn’t last for long.

I purchased the DeWalt orbital sander, to go along with my previous purchased of the sheet model. Having both now, I have the option of either, depending on the sanding required, plus final finish. However, the new orbital model is a great addition, especially when it comes to sanding rough wood and using the proper grade of discs. I’ve only used 80 grit so far when sanding pallet wood and I was really impressed with the finish and how quick the disc removed the surface. I didn’t have to press hard for the machine to do its job and just let the disc do its thing. After an hour of work, the disc still looked like new and was still gripping well the sander’s orbital plate. To say I’m impressed with the new sander is an understatement and knowing it’s capabilities now, I’m delighted I have it in my toolbox. It was a bare unit purchase too, as all my other DeWalt batteries fit. Would I recommend the sander to others… a definate ‘Yes’ and money well spent.
