An excellent, accurate mitre saw. Robust and well made. This easily compares to the more expensive brands.Evolution have got this spot on.

I have owned a 210mm evolution for about 15yrs. It has given great service, initially it was used for decking jobs and altervin life for cutting old wood, often with nails in it. The old machine had become dangerous to use so during the prime sale I bit the bullet and purchased the 255mm.Lovely machine, really easy to assemble, I checked the setup but no adjustment was required, cutting is just very easy. I just love this new boys toy.

Great for DIY projects. Used mainly so far for cutting t&g boards to length plus cutting skirting boards with 22.5° angles to fit around an octagonal conservatory. Had one malformed fixing screw which was immediately replaced by customer services. Laser guide is very useful but be aware that the plastic protective cap can become covered in wood resin causing the line to blur. Customer services explained how to remove the cap and clean in warm soapy water. I find the positioning of the two supplied clamps a little awkward to use as they often foul the maching when cutting angles – this isn’t really a problem as I just firmly hold the wood in place by hand. This a great machine costing about a sixth of professional machines.

The whole unit feels solidly built and real thought seems to have gone into improving over the brands older saws. Paper instructions are possible to follow with a little bit of guesswork (instructions seem to be for a diferant revision of the saw) but the video is excellent.Bought this to handle a number of upcoming jobs, until now have used a jigsaw for everything erything.Bevel cut skirting board: done a few pieces so far and is accurate and easy to use. Gives a clean cut that only requires minimal sanding before fitting.Have had a growing pile of old wood that needed chopping for the fire (decking, hardwood fence posts and the like) that i just couldn’t face doing with a jigsaw. This made short work of the pile with very little effort from me.New workbench! Used this to cut both the timber and the steel reinforcements. Did a beautiful job.Precision cutting some aluminium extrusions was also a breze both for straight and mitre cuts. Have yet to try a compound cut but can’t see there being any issues. To get a perfectly square cut I did have to adjust the saw using a set of paralells but very easy to do by following the included instructions. As others have noted the lazer is not great (both in visibility and accuracy) Easier to mark up the work peice and do it by eye.I’m short a great addition to a home workshop.

This is a big powerful machine. At 81, I’m used to something a bit smaller but very happy with it’s performance. As my next project is a kitchen table, this arrived just at the right time. As is always the case, the instructions for putting something like this together were less than helpful, in fact they were for a different machine! I might be an elderly lady, but even a much younger friend had problems so I didn’t feel so useless.

Waited years to cut timber so squarely and mitres so accurately.
