This is worth every penny! For the past 10 years I’ve been prodding the sewage drains at the back of our house to keep them flowing. There is nothing wrong with the sewage drains, just some neighbour who is too lazy to use the bin (neighbours from hell). The manhole at the back of our house usually blocks up from baby wipes, bandages, rubber gloves, plastic bags, washing-up cloths, you name it, I’ve seen it in our manhole. Our house is the last house of the sewage system of 4 houses before it goes to the street, so I end up prodding it all through every 6 months or so. Last summer it was just too bad and had to get the professionals in to clear the pile of junk.Yesterday, it was the same again, there was a mountain of baby wipes visible in the manhole. Wasn’t sure if this drain Karcher Drain Kit (Drain Rat) would do the job, but it did. As I couldn’t even get to the hole because of all the junk, I inserted the pipe from the other end where it was clear and let the “Drain Rat” shoot through the pipe. It did need a bit of guiding to begin with, but by constantly gently pulling the pipe backwards and letting it shoot forwards again to break up the junk, it cleared this totally blocked sewage pipe, slowly but surely. Job done in just under an hour. This would normally have taken me an entire day to do with drain rods.Cleaning the Drain Rat is easy, take one of those plastic black dustbins and let the Drain Rat drop into it as you pull it out, add some water, some disinfectant, … all clean to store away.I’ve got the 7.5M length, a 10M length would have been ideal for our sewers. Might invest in the 15M one to cover a greater distance. Having said that, 7.5M is ideal for indoor problems, but for outside a 15M one would be better. The pipe is flexible enough to guide it through any pipe, and at the same time stiff enough to get it in the manhole pipe 5 feet below the surface. It is worth it to buy it in advance to have it at hand for those unexpected blockages! We don’t have a high pressure on our water supply, but the Karcher machine does build up the pressure very nicely, so yes, even if your water pressure is low, the machine will do the job! This is a must have for every household, and would certainly recommend it!!!

Having read some of the negative reviews, I was a little concerned about this product. When our builders put on our new kitchen they warned us about the long run from the sink to the man hole. It is about 8 m with a 120 degree bend about 2 m from the man hole. This is a very cleverly designed product. It’s a dead simple design but brilliantly effective and being from Kärcher it is well made. It does all the work for you. You have to work downstream of the blockage so I fed the device in from the manhole outside our house. It pulls itself into the pipe and all you have to do is occasionally pull it back and then allow it to pull itself back in. There is no need, or point, in trying to push. From other reviews it sounds like people were trying to force it along the pipe. This is not the way to do it. At first it would not go past the bend so at first I became disillusioned but since the water coming down the drain continued to be dirty and fatty I persevered. The issue with bends is that the Kärcher pipe is quite stiff so it tends to want to turn a corner. I decided to try rotating the exposed pipe a little at a time to try to align the head correctly so that it would pull its way through past the bend. This eventually did the trick with a bit of jiggling, rotating and patience. On the box they say it will pass 90 degree bends and I am sure it will but one has to be patient. As it worked its way further along the drain, I also stopped a number of times because as more pipe disappears into the drain you end up with a tighter coil left. All i did was disconnect the pipe from the gun and unwind some more.I was amazed by the amount, and size, of the lumps of fat that came out and ended up spending about 90 mins giving the pipe a thorough clean. I had great fun (yeah kind of weird) and loved the fact that we are now in charge of our own drains and can throw away all the crap chemical products and rods and things that we tried before this product.I was using it with a K2 Premium pressure washer.

Great addition to Power Washer
I have owned a K2 Karcher power washer for years and have used it for many different jobs. I recently had a clogged kitchen sink. I used a plumbers snake to dislodge the clog which it did but unfortunately it just moved the clog further down the drain and had a sewer backup in toilet and shower. I bought the pipe cleaning attachment in hopes I could use it as a water jetter for hydrojetting the main drain. The attachment was very easy to attach and within fifteen minutes the jetting action dislodged the clog and now everything works as it should. Although the attachment cost $100 it was cheaper than what the plumber was going to charge for this service – close to $300, and since I own it I can use it as part of regular drain maintenance.

Prima
Schlauch ist stabil und trotzdem recht flexibel, die Düse ist klein und effektiv. Deutlich besser als die ebenfalls angebotenen Billigprodukte.
