Makita DBN500ZJ 18V Li-Ion LXT Brad Nailer
Cordless Brad Nailer eliminates the need for a compressor and air hose.
The Makita DBN500ZJ 18V Li-Ion LXT Brad Nailer is powered by 18V Li-ion battery to deliver 460 watt maximum output. The compressed air (generated by piston action linked with DC motor) moves the driving guide. The mechanism provides less reaction force and “air nailer like” shot feeling to the operator.
The Brad Nailer has a slim nose to allow better visibility for easy access to the point aimed at. It enables the user to shoot nails into tight spaces. There is only 28mm distance between the nail exit and the tangential line of the front body.
The Makita DBN500ZJ 18V Li-Ion LXT Brad Nailer features an easy to use tool-less blade depth adjustment dial for a wide range of finish applications, anti-dry fire mechanism to prevent driving blanks and damaging the work surface and a rocker switch to select sequential or bump fire mode. On tool hex wrench for fast and easy removal for jammed nails, and keeping it from being lost.

Any accessories shown are not necessarily supplied as standard equipment.

Straightforward to use. I bought for fixing beading and have used it for all sorts of applications.I haven’t looked too hard but haven’t found any 15mm brads for sale yet. Thequality you expect from Makita.

I’m a carpenter and have a van full of makita stuff which has never failed to impress me! This however is just awful not consistent at all as far as setting the brad into the surface and I would say five out of ten times it miss fires! I’m going to try another brand of brad and hope that fixes the issue if not its a very expensive blue door stop! Very disappointed and surprised that makita make such a poor tool considering there record for making great tools for tradesmen.

This arrived Friday, and on saturday was put to use building a 6ft x 12ft Featherboard Fence. Just wish i had purchased one earlier when erecting a 5ft x 70ft double feathered boarded fence.

As a whole this is a nice piece of kit. Feels good quality, depth adjustment works well, the bump fire setting is good etc etc! But,and this is a big but, this gun is so frustrating, the misfiring is ridiculous. I’ve not asked to much of it with regards to what I’ve used it for, pinning 6mm ply to floor boards, softwood architrave, laminate floor beading etc and when its worked its worked well. I would say 50/60% of the time it misfires but because it still makes the little punch mark you don’t realise until you move the gun away and test what you’ve tried to fix. I tried fixing a simple piece of laminate floor beading the other day and 9 attempts it took before it finally fired into one piece by which time I had several punch marks. I’ve even bought the fairly expensive service kit to see if it helps but no!! Would i recommend this gun, sadly the answer would have to be no which is a shame because it could be a great gun.
