Great angle grinder. Really versatile and handy tool to have. Used it for trimming bolts and metal cutting. .

I’ll fess up. I’ve never liked angle grinders. I always thought they were a bit dangerous and have limited use. But this piece of kit has changed me…I’ve used it for cutting block paving, concrete & stone slabs and loads of metal mesh. Saved me a ton of time. I went for the 125mm for the extra cutting depth – it might not sound much over a 100mm/4in grinder but disks wear really quickly, and the extra size buys you some time. And it cuts deeper of course, at least initially.I’m into the Makita LXT system so already had batteries and chargers, and I was originally going to buy the much cheaper 4in corded grinder for a one-off job – I’m so glad I didn’t! This cordless version has been awesome, and for my needs, the 4in corded version would have been a waste – YMMV.I have four 5amp batteries, and with constant use on concrete blocks (for example), they fade way more with this than any other Makita power tool I have (drills, drivers, saws etc) so if you only have one 3 or 4 amp battery, consider adding another big amp unit. Also, check the RPM – not everyone is happy with the max speed of this grinder – it’s been fine for my needs. From a safety perspective, there is a metal shield and a snap-on plastic cover that provides a higher degree of protection. I felt that unclipping the plastic cover and relying on the metal shield was enough for me. For my use, the metal shield gave me the protection I needed without getting in the way, and was OK for left and right hand operation (with easy adjustment when needed). Clearly, safety is very important with this kind of tool, so always use the maximum you can.Maintenance-wise, there are filters which need cleaning (grinders are dusty!) which I’ve done with my work vacuum, but that’s about it. It’s also pretty big with a 5 amp battery attached, so consider that if you need to work in tight spaces. Since buying it, I’ve added a Makpak case, from Amazon, and I’ve found it works well with non-Makita disks from the likes of Bosch and Screwfix. It’s worth noting that the ring to fix disks on may need reversing depending on the thickness of the disk – check the instructions. My next project involves metal-brushing my rusty gate to repaint it 🙂

Another purchase of a Makita tool, very robust and good tool

Powerful, easy to handle, no mains cord – Brilliant!I used this to grind down an uneven concrete floor coupled with a concrete floor grinding cup and a dust extractor cowl. I got through a few charges of the battery doing it (18m2 floor) but was surprised at the sheer power available from this tool. A real beast but with great control, the variable speed allows care when needed. I bought without battery as I have other tools of the same battery type and therefore have batteries for those to use with this tool. I am really pleased with this purchase.

, but… has one minus – when working with it, a slight vibration of the tool is felt..

Came well before due date, well packaged.Great company to deal with, very professional and honest. I would happily purchase from them again.Makita are in my opinion rule above the rest in equipment quality, ease of use and reliability. Now we have 18 volt long lasting quickly rechargeable batteries, no more need for cable reels, generators etc.

Works great as I would have expected

Has been used to cut Osma pipe, and the odd slab or edging when needed. Face masks where worn. Also used at home to buff some wax on the car after a wash. Different disc’s and brushes are available.

Ottimo prodotto
