Cannot grumble with Makita tools, they are well-made sturdy, value for money and perfect for professional working tools.

Quite lightweight, low noise and cuts through thick hardwood like a hot knife through butter! I’m very pleased.

I deliberated for ages before buying this – don’t know how I ever managed without it.It knocks the socks off my old corded circular saw – more accurate and much more powerful. The nice thin blade gives a brilliant cut. Its lightweight to handle and makes jobs a breeze. If you have already bought in to the Makita 18v LXT battery range and have batteries, then what are you waiting for? If not, maybe it’s time to consider doing so….Has become one of my Go To tools.Love it !

The light is not worth having as it lights the saw blade and the blade is not easily visible when cutting. The main thing I do not like is all the sawdust being blown all over my legs while using it. This is worse when I had to cut the head of a garage door frame and got the sawdust in my eye’s and face while using it upside down. This is because the saw is made for a left handed person. I only realised this when I put it next to my 110v DeWalt saw. The motor is on the right hand side and would have to completely redesigned and all the ally casting’s changed. I got the saw because I had some other tools that use the same batteries and it was to late to send it back after I found this out.

Much better than my previous model, which was a basement model, the DSS611Z bought in a 6-tool pack combi kit that I had for 5 years and only used occasionally for mostly DIY use (not full time or construction site based). That old one came to a sudden halt whilst cutting through an old chipboard 40mm worktop recently, so this new brushless version was my first choice for a replacement.Brushless action which means power saving, effortlessly and feels more planted though it is bigger and heavier this is only slightly. I like the LED light and the feel of this new saw.I only use 5 & 6ah original Makita batteries which are between 2 & 5 years old. None have over 150 – 200 charges. I have the Makita BTC 04 battery checker tester for monitoring all of my Makita batteries. The only gripe for me is that I’m not a first fix/carcassing contractor (DIY’er) so the rafter hook is un-necessary for me, I wished it could be removed, which it probably can but for now I can live with it.Cuts like a knife through timber and even has a good dust extraction outlet when attached to my DVC750LZ.Has the option to attach 2 fences to it, front and back of the base, though I have not tried this method yet.I enjoy looking forward to using this saw and hopefully it’ll last me a lot longer than my old one. This is also registered under the 3 year Makita warranty scheme.

Added this to my 18v collection, excellent saw, light easy to work with, used for cutting floorboards usually, with its strong motor and new blade, like a knife through butter, clears sawdust off with ease
