Good quality tool. Great value and came with cutting discs and makita carry case.

Not much to say other than it does what it says on the box.I have heard complaints about the box being rubbish with the grinder not fitting in great – well yeah I suppose but it would not stop me buying again. It’s a decent brand at a good price.

Classic Makita quality – an excellent all round grinder.

Makita GA4530RKD. I’ve used this grinder to shapen mosonary chisels and cut through 5mm thick angle iron, both tasks it performed well. Other reviewers have criticised the on off slide-switch but I find it very easy to use – push it in towards the body of the tool and then push forward to activate, just press it to deactivate. Very easy. The case could be better as others have noted, the main problem being the cable storage. On first opening the cable is tied up neatly and stuffed into a small compartment by the cable outlet of the grinder, but it’s very difficult to get it back in there after use. A better solution is to take the cord back along the legth of the grinder and fold it into the larger compartment at the head of the grinder. With a flat disc loaded it closes easily, but with a thicker disc that has a raised locating lip it’s a bit more difficult to close because of the extra thickness. The case isn’t as good as the case on my Makita cordless drill, but at least it’s a case! The disc guard is a friction fit affair that works really well. To reposition it just grab it and turn (while the grinder is switched off!) Much easier than a clamp I think. The handle is angled forwad a bit which could limit access to tighter spaces – I’d rather have a handle at right angles to the body, but it’s not a critical factor. All in all, and for the price, which includes a diamond concrete cutting disc, grinding disc and case, IMO it’s good value.

Used, so far, with wire brush. Simple to attach, comfortable in the hand and plenty of oomph.

Decided to go with Makita this time as got frustrated with the Bosch on switch. A balanced grinder with a powerful little motor, great for tiling.

I’ve used a larger 230mm Makita Angle Grinder for years for cutting up slabs etc. This smaller corded device is great for those projects where greater precision is required.

Not started my project yet but tried it out and happy with its performance. It’s not the biggest but for its size it will do the job nicely.
