The Makita HR009GZ01 40V Max Li-ion XGT Brushless SDS has 3 modes of operation for rotation only, hammer with rotation and hammer only, LED job light with pre-glow and after-glow to illuminate the work area, anti-restart function to minimise motor start up when the battery is inserted with the switch locked on and a torque limiter to help minimise gear damage by automatically disengaging the gears if the bit binds.
The Makita HR009GZ01 40V Max Li-ion XGT Brushless SDS features dust collection (forced dust collection), Active Feedback Sensing Technology (AFT) designed to automatically turn the motor off if the rotation speed suddenly slows down or stops, Anti-Vibration Technology (AVT) for low vibration and Auto-Start Wireless System (AWS) to automatically connect to a compatible vacuum cleaner with Bluetooth; chip 198900-7 is require, sold separately.

The HR009GZ01 is a cordless SDS-Plus 30mm Rotary Hammer, designed for excellent performance in continuous, heavy duty applications, powered by 40V Max Li-ion XGT battery (not included).
The Makita HR009GZ01 40V Max Li-ion XGT Brushless SDS is equipped with variable speed controlled by trigger and dial to enable the user to adjust the speed according to the materials and application and constant speed control to automatically apply additional power to the motor to maintain constant speed under load,
to deliver 0 to 840 rpm, 0 to 4,500 bpm and 3.9J impact energy.
The HR009GZ01 is further equipped with trigger lock function for continuous use, conveniently located reverse switch, depth gauge for increased drilling consistency, electric brake for increased operator safety and quick change chuck.
