Excellent for my usage. Cutting and grinding on my car sills.Plenty of power but be warned, you need big batteries and you need a good charger or enough batteries in reserve. This will chew through a 2Ah in a very short time due to its raw power. My 5Ah and 4Ah last well, I only have one slow charger at the moment so have to alternate until I’ve run them both flat and have to wait. A “high-energy” pack of a lower Ah maybe OK too but either way you need something with oomph or you’ll be waiting around to finish the job. I don’t regret having it for the mobility of a battery angle grinder. I think it tends to feel a little less scary than a mains one but that’s probably a false sense of security so treat it with caution

After using the brushed version for many years I decided to upgrade to this and I wish I’d done it sooner.Despite being more compact and lighter, they’ve really improved the ergonomics on this model and it’s much more comfortable to use for extended periods. In a straight test against the brushed version this didn’t get bogged down when cutting 4mm box steel and 8mm plate and the battery (5Ah) appears to last considerably longer. The soft start and electronic break both sound cool and make this more pleasant and safer to use.Would recommend spending the extra money and buying this.

I have used this a lot and it still impresses me, great bit of kit, no leads to get tangled in, powerful, has the bonus of a kick back protect which stops the tool instantly so very safe to use. I like it.

This grinder is very good and powerfull – if you have a big enough battery. Soft start and brake stop. Can adjust the guard with a little button on the side. Has a tool-less disc change. Top sliding power button tricky in welding gloves. WIth a 3Ah battery I can cut, bevel and clean up only 4 lengths of 3mm square section before the battery runs out.

When i first received the item I wasn’t 100% sure with the design. Usually for a cordless grinder the battery aims sideways or backwards, whereas this faces forwards. This design however doesn’t affect the use at all. If you run the grinder without the guard (which I like to do) then some sparks can go towards where the battery is placed but if you use the guard then this isn’t an issue.Once you power it off the grinder has a brake which stops the disc spinning quicker (ideal safety feature)It comes with the guard, handle and 125mm grinding disc.I’ve used the item multiple times for work on cars (I’m a mechanic) and it always does the job effortlessly. I would definitely recommend the item to anyone whether for diy or professional use.

I purchased this after my previous Ryobi angle grinder finally gave up the ghost and I decided to pay a little more to get the brushless version – what a mistake. Contrary to the marketing, the brushessless version has less torque, repeatedly stopping when its even vaguely taxed. I used an oversized blade with my old grinder and it worked great – this one can’t even get the blade up to speed without cutting out, NOT ONCE.The head also seems be be bulkier because the depth it can cut to is slightly less. Finally – who on earth though that replacing a trigger button (simple, intuitive) with a slider was a good idea? Its bloody awful to use.I’m going to try and repair my old one and I’ll give this one away to someone I don’t like.

It works well but the disc that comes on it creates a lot of sparks and doesn’t cut well. I swapped discs and it’s much better. Doesn’t come with a battery, and works well for most quick jobs with the small (2mAh) Ryobi one+ batteries.
