I bought this bare drill because I’d ordered two batteries and a charger on Amazon Vine. My largest drill had died a few days previously, and replacing it was going to be expensive, and I figured this drill had to be better than my dead one!The batteries I’d received are 5.5 Ah, so would last much longer than my old drill’s batteries, and I bought the drill simply for that reason. It arrived and looks and feels good. The build quality is as good as I remember Ryobi gear being, and I imagine it will provide years of service. With the battery loaded, I gave it a test and it’s perfect. Does exactly what I need it to, and has plenty of power and torque when required. It’s a far better drill than the one it replaces, and thanks to getting the batteries off Vine, it was a cheaper option. If you already have the drill, the non-OEM batteries are half the price of OEM, and perform just as they would. If you already have the batteries, but your drill is dead, this Ryobi 18v drill is excellent. It performs as well as any of my cordless drills (I have quite a few!), and is a great addition to the workshop tool kit. And an odd point to make, but I think it’s appropriate…the colour makes it very easy to spot when on a cluttered work bench! An easy 5/5 from me.

I am part of the Ryobi 1+ system. Have several of their products. Had a drill same as this for nearly 6 years which finally gave up after several house renovations. Bought this as the newer model and having lots of the batteries. It’s great for the price and feels more sturdy than the previous model. Batteries still going strong 6 years later too from Ryobi

I have two of these as it saves me switching between drills and drivers when I’m doing something big. Chunky, effective tools that don’t drain the battery too much. Love the Ryobi range.
Amazon Customer –
Works well, not brushless but seems powerful enough. Not used for heavy drilling yet but good for putting up shelves and polishing.

Was expecting to receive the drill in original Ryobi box but came in a plastic bag inside a Amazon cardboard sleeve. ( no protective packing )The small instruction leaflet has obviously been photo copied ( ink smudges over pages ) but my other Ryobi tools came with loads of safety instructions and a full manual.Have managed to register the 3 year guarantee ok so hopefully all will be fine.Quick test and all appears ok but time will tell. Also the seller and despatcher are given as different companies. My advice for what its worth would be to pay the extra couple of quid and buy direct from Ryobi for peace of mind.

Drill arrived in bubble wrap, no instructions, no safety advice, no warranty details, hope its new and not refurbished
